ASTRA is another project CORE Platform is very proud of. In line with fundamental EU values and the UN SDGs, on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, the project aspires to play its part in narrowing the gender gap by equipping women with the tools and confidence to take on leadership roles. CORE Platform in partnership with Weave Consulting and Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione (CEI Piemonte) is carrying out the EU Co-funded project.

Europe Direct CORE Platform organised a Network of Networks meeting at the fabulous VegBox. The VegBox is a true example of the EU farm-to-fork strategy where the owners explained that all their vegetables, fruit and produce are cultivated and harvested on their nature schedule and only organic practices are used. They also trade and barter used clothes, furniture, and books creating a circular economy. The European Commission Representation in Malta, the European Parliament representation in Malta as well as the other Europe Direct Centres present, shared their appreciation of what the VegBox with little EU Funds is doing for sustainability.

On the 15th – 16th of November Julian Dingli, Executive at CORE Platform, joined over eighty civil society organisations from all Member States in Brussels for the “Looking ahead to the 2024 European Elections” info meeting. Christian Mangold, Stephen Clark, Petros Fassoulas, & Christian Skrivervik, have carried out various forums and training sessions including identifying target audiences as well as tackling misinformation, fact-checking, and proper debunking of fake news. By equipping civil society organisations with the needed knowledge and tools to promote democracy, the EU aims to increase voting participation in all member states during the EU elections 2024. Giving a clearer stronger mandate to the elected MEPs. EP President Roberta Metsola has also given a speech discussing the state of civil society in the current geopolitical context and what lies ahead. Encouraging young individuals to candidate and be part of the European Movement. Present organisations were encouraged to submit proposals for potential EU Funding in view to increase youth voting participation in the 2024 elections.
