Medziphema, February 24 (MExN): State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema organized two-day online training on ‘Private Public Partnership for agriculture development’ for ATMA functionaries on February 23 and 24.
The training was aimed to motivate and know the importance of PPP mode in agriculture extension and the techniques involved in ‘PPP mode in agriculture development.’ Inaugural session and course briefing was introduced by Dr Watimongla Jamir, Director SAMETI & Principal IETC i/c Medziphema.
The resource persons were Dr Mary N Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Rural Development, NU, SASRD, Medziphema and Dr J Longkumer Professor, Department of Agriculture Extension NU: SASRD, Medziphema.
They highlighted the importance of PPP mode in agriculture sector, its essentials towards advancing agriculture development to meet global challenges in food security, providing knowledge to widen access to technology and link farmers to market. Also, vital role on Corporate Social Responsibility in PPP mode were discussed with reference to three factors which are Sustainability, Accountability, and Transparency.
“Such information and knowledge were disseminated to the trainees for better vision in upscaling the gaps and reaching out to the farmers for the welfare of the Farmer Community in Nagaland,” Director SAMETI, & Principal IETC i/c Medziphema stated in a press release.
The training was hosted by Janet Chishi, Deputy Project Director, SAMETI and Yezaho Swu, Deputy Project Director, SAMETI. Altogether, 22 ATMA functionaries from all the districts of the state who attended the training were given certificates.
