Since Daun Penh Cambodia Group was founded by Okhna Ing Bun Hoaw in 2010, the company has operated its businesses with the utmost care and responsibility towards Cambodian society.
With a strong commitment to good corporate governance, business ethics, and transparency, the group, along with its various subsidiaries seek to not only further shareholder interest but also consider all relevant stakeholders such as customers, employees, and the public.
The chairman and CEO of Daun Penh (Cambodia) Group holds the community in which he resides and country of birth in the highest regard. As such, both himself and DPCG considers Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a cornerstone of his business philosophy in order to give back to the community and country that has enabled him to prosper from his humble beginnings.
Our effort in Cambodia focuses on key issues that will affect the future of Cambodia’s most vulnerable communities: such as those who lack food, shelter and any other essential materials that constitutes a basic living. This is especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic where many of these vulnerable communities have been affected. Therefore, the Chairman and DPCG has been continuously active in alleviating the hardships of the Cambodian people through a social welfare program.
Our main goal for our social welfare program, is to help improve the living conditions and the well-being of our communities. We focus our efforts on provincial areas, or areas worst affected by poverty and/or natural disasters.
The social welfare program consists of building new houses, providing basic essential items, and donations to impoverished families. This is particularly relevant in today’s context of a global pandemic. Resources and awareness are some of the utmost important drivers for ensuring the prevention in the rise of COVID-19. Accordingly, DPCG continues to contribute to the ongoing health crisis.
Since the February 20th Community Outbreak, the chairman and DPCG has donated more than USD2,000,000 in cash and essential equipment to help the Royal Cambodian Government, relevant ministries, local authorities, and front-line medical teams across the country fight against the pandemic. In doing so, DPCG has joined the Royal Cambodian Government in sharing the burden of the crisis by providing aid to ensure the community and the country are on an even faster roadmap to recovery.
DPCG often works with existing humanitarian support institutions such as the Cambodian Red Cross and the Cambodian Tricycle Foundation by supporting their causes through annual donations of USD250,000 in total in 2021 alone. DPCG chooses these institutions as we believe they have values that align with our CSR program with focus towards local communities across the country.
Our work with the Cambodian Red Cross seeks to address the housing problem for impoverished communities as well as various other humanitarian programs.
Our donation to the Cambodian Tricycle Foundation likewise seeks to help the vulnerable especially during the drop in tourism from COVID-19.
We also believe that donating to hospitals such as the Cambodian Kantha Bopha Foundation is very important, as we strongly believe in access to quality healthcare regardless of one’s financial background.
Inspired by how religion enriches, strengthens a community and recognising its spiritual importance, we have also dedicated our efforts into extending our help to several religious communities around the country. Contributions to building pagodas and temples for Buddhists as well as assistance Christian communities are just some examples of the various support programs being run.
The chairman himself actively supports initiatives to promote Buddhism across the country such as building a meditation…
